The course covered all aspects of fluid mechanics of blood circulation. Invited lectures:

• Heat transfer in blood circulatory system: G. van Leeuwen & A. van Steenhoven (Eindhoven)
• Flow in artificial valves and bloodpumps: K. Affeld (Berlin)
• Do Doppler motion detectors colour arteries red? : A. PG Hoeks (Maastricht)
• Experimental assessment of wall shear flow: U. Kertzscher (Berlin)
• Wave propagation in arteries, coronary circulation or aneurysms: F. van de Vosse (Eindhoven)
• Concepts for high resolution blood flow imaging with high frequency ultrasound: M. Vogt, H. Ermert (Bochum)
• Multiscale modelling of the cardiovascular system: A. Veneziani (Milan)
• Experimental investigations of blood flow behaviour in large human arteries: Piero Tortoli (Firenze)
• Mathematical and numerical modelling of cardiovascular flows: J. Szumbarski & J.K. Mizerski (Warszawa)

Contributions to the workshop in form of short oral presentations (20-30min) on related subject were invited. Participation was free, including coffee breaks, lunches and a copy of the course materials.
Full papers of contributed presentations were not required for presentation but welcome. They will be considered for publication after the meeting. The preliminary deadline for the full paper is July 30, 2005. The contributed papers should not exceed 10 pages. When preparing the full paper, please use the Guidelines for authors.
